Summary of the Editorial and Review Process

  1. a reference code is assigned to each manuscript, after submission.
  2. The editorial team assigns potential reviewers to the manuscript.
  3. Reviewers inform the editorial team if they can review the manuscript within the given timelines or not.
  4. If yes then the reviewers must submit the review reports to the editor.
  5. The editorial team discusses the reports and makes the final decision.
  6. The editor contacts the author with the decision.
  7. The final decision may include Acceptance, Rejection, Minor Revision, and Major Revision.

Preparing Files for Submission

We strongly encourage all authors to follow the below-given instructions before submitting the manuscript:

General instructions:   It is recommended that the manuscript text and figures must be submitted in Microsoft Word format. Abbreviations should be spelled out in full forms and a Cover letter should be attached with the manuscript (this is accessible to the editors only)

Ethical Consideration: Wherever necessary, the authors should declare ethical approval. The name of the institutional review board that has given approval should be mentioned in the manuscript. Any research involving human subjects should be conducted in accordance with the World Medical Association Declaration of Helsinki - Ethical Principles for Medical Research Involving Human Subjects. In the case of animal use, it should be mentioned whether the relevant official guidelines for the use of laboratory animals have been followed. In- case of lack of ethical approval, the manuscript may be rejected within the initial phases after submission.  

Informed Consent: If human subjects are involved in the study, the subject's detailed information and informed consent are mandatory. In the case of children, the written informed consent should be obtained from parents or guardians. In situations when it was not feasible or possible to obtain written informed consent, the reasons should be mentioned in detail. In the case of illiterate participants, a thumb impression is considered equal to written informed consent. In studies involving occupational participants, the permission of the employer is mandatory.

Competing Interest: A competing interest arises when a professional judgment concerning a primary interest may be influenced by a secondary interest. The authors are requested to disclose any competing interest they may have at the time of submission.

Acknowledgment: Contributors, probably the ones whose names are not present in the authorship list must be acknowledged. 

Source of Funding: The authors should state the source of funding with the grant number (if any). it should be mentioned clearly In case of no external support. The role of funders in the study design, data collection, data analysis, statistical analysis, etc. should be elaborated if the support is taken from any outside company.

Dual Publication: If some part of the article, figure, or any result has already been submitted, accepted, or published elsewhere, it should be mentioned in the covering letter. If part of the results, table, or figure from someone else publication is used, the authors should provide permission to reuse them in an open-access journal under the open-access license.

Figure & Tables Guidelines: Suitably high-resolution figures may be inserted into the text at appropriate positions or grouped at the end. Each figure legend should be presented on the same page as its figure. It is recommended that the tables and graphs incorporated in the manuscript are editable. Distinct color must be used and the rainbow color scale should be avoided. The graphs must be visible and should clearly depict the results. The axis must be labeled properly in the graphs. Units and legends must be well-defined.

Reference Guidelines: The reference list should include article titles and follow the Vancouver style of referencing. 

For e.g.: Author's Names. Title of article. Abbreviated title of the journal. Year of publication; volume number (issue number): page numbers.

Starting the Process

To start the manuscript submission process, click on the make a submission link on the ‘Home’ page. Authors are requested to submit their manuscripts in our standard formats.

Checking Your Manuscript Status

After submission, you will receive an acknowledgment email. You can check the status of your manuscript at any time in the review process by accessing the system with your password or link sent to you in the acknowledgment email.

This procedure will display detailed tracking information about where your manuscript is in the submission/peer-review process.
