Cesarean section, is often performed to prevent the mother and the baby from vaginal risk. C-section might carry some risk of having placenta accrete spectrum disorder, which may cause a severe threat to the mother. This is undoubtedly a visible ethical consideration to be noted. Maternal autonomy is usually accepted as the most compelling ethical canon. However, a woman has a right to refuse surgical delivery without regard for the risk to the fetus. She may refuse a cesarean section for reasons that have no medical basis, even if her decision endangers the life or health of her fetus. This commentary highlights the ethical aspects that should be considered by an obstetrician while suggesting cesarean sections to their patients. It was found out that the rate of the cesarean case has risen massively in the past decade, and females are willingly opting for that. The obstetrician should make sure that the patient is well informed about her health and the risks of the processes before making a decision.
